PRESTON BEACH

Public BBQ

Lockhart River Beach Park offers a spacious carpark with direct beach access for 4WD vehicles, featuring two entry points to drive north or south along the sand. The park includes clean public toilets, outdoor showers for beachgoers, BBQ facilities, grassy areas, and a playground making it ideal for families. A designated vehicle-free swimming zone ensures safety for swimmers while allowing beach driving in other sections. The beach itself delivers beautiful scenery with impressive waves and plenty of shells along the shore. Free 48-hour camping is available for fully self-contained RVs (regularly patrolled and enforced). The area is dog-friendly with ample space for pets to run and swim. Fishing is popular here with marked posts separating the swimming area from vehicle access zones. The flat, open carpark easily accommodates caravans and larger vehicles turning around. Tyre deflation is necessary for beach driving but the access is well worth it for those equipped.
